Summer practice schedule and band camp

Fall 2001

Practices are held every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 4:15 to 6:15 pm. Students can either take the activity bus (on some days) or carpool after practice. Guard will have practice from 6:30-9:00 pm on Mondays (or Tuesdays on Monday holidays) in place of the Tuesday rehearsal. Percussion will have a break-out sectional on Tuesdays. Wednesdays will be days in which we can practice on the field; on Thursdays, all students are expected to wear their dinkles and hats.

Tuesdays during lunch all DM's, SL's, ASL's, and Captains have a meeting in the Band room.

On Fridays: if the game is at home, students can go eat out and then return to get ready by 5:45 (or other time, if noted). Horn and cymbal polishing, etc. should be completed by this time. Field warm-up and set runs until 6:45. Full dress and to pregame at 7:10. Games begin at 7:30 and end and approximately 9:30. We will do a brief post-game play in the stands, then go to the Band room for storage of equipment and brief comments. Expect to be out by approximately 10 pm.

If the game is away, students are encouraged to participate at pepband.

All home games will be preceded by an 8:00 am stand-still MB "Hall March" in the audlob.

Wednesday, September 12, there will be a special presentation for all band students with Dr. David Kuhns from 4 to 6 pm. There will be a special session for officers, captains, and marching band drum majors from 6:30 to 8:30 pm.

Guard's September David weekend will start Friday, September 21 after school or evening, then on Saturday at the Herndon competition, on Sunday at times TBA, and during Monday night's regular practice.
