I was just wondering if you need assistance for your upcoming season? I am a recent college graduate from California State Univ., Chico. Thank you. The band looks and sounds terrific.

Haven't seen the band perform since the last JMU POC y'all were at- can hardly miss it since I live less than 1/2 mile from the stadium.

You want "back in the day" stories? I can remember marching in the old uniform WITH the capes and WITH the spats.

Wonder what ever happened to Wally the Wanger Dog and his matching uniform?

I can also remember my fellow Drum Major Sara Voskuhl reciting the "Game Day" poem for the first time... mainly 'cause she wrote it.

Twootles!

Comments: Ah, at last my life is perfect! I just listened to the Old Cadence on this TJMC website. What fond memories it brings back of the old days, when I was a mere Rookie Trombone parent. Now, as the parent of a senior drum line member, it's great to hear the same rousing tune on the way out that greeted me with such spirit as I came in. Thanks, buddy!

Comments: Wow, all the memories. Great job on the site, Skye. I was DM back in '96 (well, fall of '95), and it's great to see things haven't changed much. For whoever it was further down who was worried about band camp--it's the most fun week of your life (well, almost, anyway)! Keep up the great work, and enjoy this while you can--you'll never find anything quite like TJMC again. Good luck next year! And hi to any alums out there I marched with!

Comments: I'd just like to let the marching band know how upset and offended I am by their unprofessional, aggressive behavior during the hall march on 10/8/99. I was just one of many people who were subjected to abuse, either physical or by use of gestures, by the marching band as they marched this morning. I have never liked the idea of hall marches, but today you guys went way too far. First of all, as the band came through the rear hallway, I covered my ears against the noise. At least one member of the marching band then pointed the open end of his instrument at me, and tried to get in my face with it. Moments later, I saw my friend elbowed intentionally by numerous members of the band, and intentionally hit with a flute by another. Yes, I am sure it was intentional. I was right there, I saw the deliberate movement. Later in the day, I heard from other people similar reports of being hit with instruments and elbowed or shoved intentionally. Might I remind you all that there is something called mob assault, and that is essentially the situation. I strongly believe that all hall marches should be banned, and a petition is now being circulated to that end. It is obvious that the marching band thinks that it owns the shcool, and that is not the case. This utter disregard for safety and property is reprehensible. Face it, nobody likes being forced to flee the hall when the band comes through. Please, on behalf of myself and my friends, leave us alone. Find a better place to march. If anyone can please give me an idea of why this should be permitted to continue, I'd like to hear it. Otherwise, please march elsewhere and save everyone the inconvenience.

Thanks
Alex
