So how does one become a Theatre Booster? Well, it's pretty tough, with a painstaking selection process. To start with, you have to have a child involved with TJ theatre. Or you have to want to be involved. That's it! Not so tough after all... In fact, if you meet one of these criteria, it's tough NOT to be a Theatre Booster. You belong to us!

The Theatre Boosters primary activities involve supporting TJ Theatre events, both by helping out and by fundraising. You can participate in one or more of our activities:

Concessions sales at shows: 2 - 3 adults are needed at each performance to help sell flowers, photo CD's and seat cushions.

Hospitality: Refeshments are needed for cast and crew during performance weeks and lunches for crew (during builds) on Saturdays before shows. (For several years, volunteers would provide the entire meal for cast and crew and then be reimbursed up to $80-$100 for performance refreshments and $40 for lunches to crew during builds.) This could still be an option, although in 2007/2008 Boosters found it easier to recruit several volunteers to donate drinks, veggies, fruit and dessert each night. Then one volunteer is asked to pick up the main meal (Subway, Popeye's, Papa John's, Baha Fresh ordered a day or two ahead) and deliver it to TJ by 4:00 PM. These volunteers are reimbursed for the full amount of his/her receipt. Boosters ask that students turn in order forms with $10 to help cover the cost of the meals for the week with the Boosters picking up any remaining cost.

Photography: 2 or 3 photographers are needed to shoot digital photos of cast, crew, and scenes during dress rehearsals (the night before opening night of each show). These are copied onto CD's which are sold by the Boosters at Concessions during shows.
